STEAM Studios: World Academy
This year’s region of study is China!
World Academy is an interdisciplinary program rooted in a yearlong regional study. Each year, students explore one area of the world through the lenses of history, geography, culture, literature, science, and the arts. The program offers two complementary learning experiences—Global Foundations and Scholars & Scribes. Families may choose one or both offerings to enrich their homeschool journey.
World Academy: Global Foundations
Students explore world cultures, history, geography, literature, the arts, and STEAM in this dynamic, interdisciplinary experience. Through hands-on projects, creative expression, and inquiry, students build a broad understanding of the world and develop critical thinking skills grounded in real-world connections.
World Academy: Scholars & Scribes
Designed for families seeking deeper literacy instruction and real-world thinking, this offering strengthens reading comprehension, writing across genres, and scientific observation and journaling. Students engage in book studies, persuasive, narrative, and informative writing, cultural storytelling, and scientific journaling that connects language with science, history, and art.
Curriculum
STEAM Studios believes in high-quality, high-engagement learning. Our curriculum begins with the national standards for all of our subjects:
World Cultures: College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework
We teach using national standards through hands-on investigations and engaging arts integration practices so your child can maximize their learning and have fun while doing it.
Program Model
Our K-12 program operates as a once or twice-per-week drop-off model. World Academy is designed as a year-long program with content and skills that build on each other until the culminating end-of-year expo.
